At 136 PM EDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm 14 miles east of Downtown Asheville, or near Black Mountain. This storm was nearly stationary.
HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 40 mph and pea size hail.
SOURCE...Radar indicated.
IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to outdoor objects is possible.
Locations impacted include...
Black Mountain, Old Fort, Swannanoa, and Montreat.
