At 1040 AM EST, Doppler radar was tracking a cluster of strong thunderstorms near Wake Forest, or 9 miles northeast of Raleigh, moving northeast at 40 mph.
HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 40 mph.
SOURCE...Radar indicated.
IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects.
Locations impacted include...
Raleigh, Durham, Roanoke Rapids, Henderson, Oxford, Nashville, Creedmoor, Louisburg, Warrenton, and Halifax.
This includes the following highways...
Interstate 95 between Mile Markers 173 and 138.
Interstate 85 between Mile Markers 174 and 233.
Interstate 440 between Mile Markers 8 and 12.
Interstate 540 between Mile Markers 4 and 24.
NC Highway 264 between Mile Markers 20 and 31.
the Durham Freeway between Mile Markers 10 and 15.
