At 1204 PM EDT, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms produced heavy rain across the warned area but are now exiting. Between 1 and 3 inches of rain fell with only up to 0.5 inches of additional rain expected. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly.
HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms.
SOURCE...Radar indicated.
IMPACT...Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses as well as other poor drainage and low-lying areas.
Some locations that will experience flash flooding include...
Morgantown, Fairmont, Westover, Star City, Pleasant Valley, Winfield, Barrackville, Granville, Cassville, Brookhaven, Rivesville, Everettville, Booth, Georgetown, Crown, Osage, Baxter and Cheat Lake.
Flooding has been reported in Westover near Holland Avenue as well as along Dents Run rising out of its creek bank.
